Makassara, officially the Sultanate of Makassara (Malay: كسولتانن مكسسارا), is an island country in Southeast Asia. Makassara is bordered by Sarwanusa to the Southeast, Mindanao to the North, the Sudirman Sultanate to the west, and Tanah Naga to the East.

History

Tribal era

Before the formation of the Sultanate, the land of Borneo and Sulawesi were divided among many different tribes all vying for control.

Formation

The Sultanate was officially formed on March 18th, 1778 by the first Sultan, Mohammad II of Makassar unified the island of Sulawesi and established the First Sultanate. The Second Sultanate was established following the Third War of Unification on January 24th, 1913.

Military

The Royal Makassaran Armed Forces is the military force of the Sultanate of Makassara. The RMAF is a modest but well trained and well equipped force of 80,000 personnel. They have not seen combat for about 100 years as the country was in a state of isolation from 1913 to 2001.

Foreign relations

As of the year 2005, Makassara is a fully independent nation and neutral nation. Makassara was a member state of the Canton Strategic Alliance Treaty (CSAT) organization between 2002-2005, exiting the organization in June of 2005 after losing confidence in the abilities of the Songjiang Empire. As a neutral nation Makassara is not currently in conflict with any country, however not all nations are treated the same. Makassara has multiple key allies, mostly residing in the Asian continent. These allies include Yahel, Canton Confederacy, Sarwanusa, Pavlovsk, and South Vinh. However, out of all of Makassara's allies none are as close as the Republic of Yahel. Contact between the Makassaran people and Yahel pre-date the formation of the modern Sultanate of Makassara by almost 200 years. The earliest recorded contact dates all the way back to the mid 15th Century.
