Cathleen Bell is an Aisling actress and model. She came to prominence and is best known for her role as Candela in the fantasy series Wizards of Badenyon. She has been cast all five of the series' films, the first of which premiered in early 2015, becoming in instant box office success. In addition, she has modeled for several notable fashion designers, including Cuithbeart Aguiar and De Lemos.
Early life
Cathleen Bell was born on May 28, 1987 to Redmond and Aston Bell. Her parents were killed when she was 7. She was raised by aunt and uncle.
Career
She was cast as Silvie Kinter in the 2007 comedy Hangers On, and its 2008 sequel Groupies
In 2011 she auditioned for, and was chosen to, be the primary model for a new line of young adult apparel being released by De Lemos. Following her success in Wizards of Badenyon, Cuithbeart Aguiar selected her to model the firms upcoming fashion line based on styles portrayed in the Wizards of Badenyon movie. She quickly became the most visible icon of the series, eclipsing the role of Murdoch Macedo, who was cast as the films main character.
She auditioned for the part of Candela in 2012 on the recommendation of her sister, Irene Connally, who had established a friendship with actress Malena Polino, having met her during a Bezek University alumni gathering in 2010. Some critics speculate that Cathleen was selected for the part based on favoritism, a charge which she, her sister, and director Zlatica Reyes all deny. Cathleen herself claimed in a 2015 interview with StarLine that the primary reason she chose to audition for the part was because she had always been a fan of the novels the series would be based upon. The first film in the series, entitled the Wizards of Badenyon: Threats from the South was released in April of 2015, and became an instant success.
She has also been featured as a voice actor in several video games, mostly those relating the Wizards of Badenyon series, and also as the narrator of several audio books. She was used to record the voice of her character from Wizards of Badenyon when the novels were adapted to audio form in 2012.
