Background
The history of the light federal scouting vehicle starts in the 1961 when it was decided that the royal cavalry needed machinegun support just as the infantry needed a quick attack vehicle and the scouting elements of the army needed the ability to bring some heavier but still quick support in fire fights or conduct quick raids.
While the design itself proved to be rather effective and versions were adapted both for land, snow and as a all terrain hovercraft so did the production tie up itself when the relative small auf Faltblom house (just a family really) perished in a car crash which tied up the construction of the machine until the royal merchantguild finally decided that the vehicle belonged to the guild itself.
After this did production start again in several factories as quite a few corporations belonging to the guild saw a chance to earn some money as the guild needed to fulfil the order that Krigsmakten had placed.
With just one update to mark 2 in 1984 which included a set of more powerful engines and a similar update to mark 3 in 2001 so have the LSF remained rather close to the original design during the 50 years that it has served in the vanguard of federal armies.
Main weapon
To keep the enemy occupied and to provide cover for both cavalry and infantry so is the LSF armed with a heavy Martin kulsprute gevar that is handled by the LSF's gunner.
Secondary weapons
Other than the heavy machine gun so are the vehicle often armed with a rocket launcher or a heavy drakbane rifle for either the driver or the gunner would they have to take on lighter or heavier vehicles but the crew is also armed with revolvers, grenades and a KVG-09 to be able to provide some additional punch on a raid.
Electronics devices
More than a set of laser designators as well as a pair of night vision monocular that is included in the equipment to aid the men in their scouting and to call in artillery strikes against enemy targets so do the LSF lack much in the way of electronic equipment.
Versions
Hovercraft
The most common version is the hovercraft that is both used on shores to sneak past the enemy through the sea in coastal regions, as a mean to travel the large fields and rivers of Scandera as well as rainforests and swamps but also employable on large plains where it is able to travel forth without obstacles
Aerosani
The lest common version is the aerosani that is propelled on a pair of skies over the frozen fields of northern Scandera in winter but also in the southern ones in the rest of the federation during the winter. This makes this vehicle a seasonal one which would be it's largest drawback.
Wheeled
The wheeled version is used during summer and not as flexible as the hovercraft but still have more places where it can be used than the aerosani.
