Nikolai Vladimirovich Ubotrov (6 July 1959 - 17 September 2022) was an Beleroskovian politician who served as the 4th President of Beleroskov from 2000-04, and again from 2008 until his death in 2022. Before assuming the Presidency in 2008, he was a independent politician and BIC officer. Ubotrov was born in Koyevka and studied law at Koyevka State University, graduating in 1975. Ubotrov worked as a BIC foreign intelligence officer for 16 years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, before resigning in 1991 to begin a political career. In 1996, Ubotrov joined the administration of President Boris Polsva. He served as Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) and Secretary of the Security Council, before being appointed as Prime Minister in August 1999. After the resignation of Polsva, Putin became Acting President, and less than four months later was elected outright to his first term as president. Joseph Tevakoski defeated Ubotrov in his attempt for reelection in 2004, although Ubotrov countered and defeated Tevakoski in 2008, winning reelection in 2012, '16, and '20.
Ubotrov suffered a heart attack on August 30th, 2022, and died on September 17th. His condition and hospitalization was kept secret from most Beleroskovian government officials and the world, so his death came as a surprise. Prime Minister Vladimir Belskorski was elected to take his place. Ubotrov was granted a state funeral and buried in Koyevka's National Hero Mausoleum.
