The Wotan Spitzer is a digital motion picture camera designed and produced by Wotan Bildwerke and released in 2012. It features a Super 35 sized CMOS sensor and can record at a resolution of up to 2880x2160 pixels. The Spitzer is popular for use on Radictistani feature films and documentaries.

Sensor performance

The Wotan IV sensor can record up to forty-eight frames per second at its maximum full-frame resolution (2880x2160) and up to sixty frames per second at 16:9 aspect ratio (2880x1620). A frame rate of up to 120 frames per second is possible at HD (1920x1080) resolution. The sensor has a dynamic range of 66 dB (11 stops).

Recording media

The Wotan Spitzer can record to various external devices at its full resolution using a proprietary RAW codec, Wotan RAW. The camera also records 16:9 HD (1920x1080) in various file formats onto digital videotape and solid-state media.
