Livonia (Livonian: Līvlizt) officially the Livonian Republic (Livonian: Līvlizt Vabāmō) is a country on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea in Northern Europe. It is bordered by Estonia to the north, Latvia to the south, and Russia to the east. Its capital and largest city is Saletsa. The official language of the country, Livonian, is the second-most spoken Finnic language alongside Estonian, Finnish, Ingrian and Karelian.

During World War II, Livonia was repeatedly contested and occupied by Germany and the Soviet Union, ultimately being incorporated into the latter as the Livonian SSR. After the loss of its de facto independence to the Soviet Union, Livonia's de jure state continuity was preserved by diplomatic representatives and the government-in-exile. After the peaceful Singing Revolution of 1987, its de facto independence was restored on 29 August 1991.
