Hazaristan (Dari: هزارستان), officially the Republic of Hazaristan (Dari: جمهوری هزارستان, romanized: Jumhurii Tojikiston), is a landlocked country in Central and south Asia with a population of 5,537,645 people. Its capital and largest city is Bamyan. It is bordered by Afghanistan to the south and , Khorasan to the west, Uzbekistan to the north and Tajikistan to the east. The traditional homelands of the Hazara people.
With the assistance of international partners (and in particular Mongolia and Manchuria), the nation has capitalised on its geography to develop a booming mining sector (with substantial deposits of gold, copper and rare earths) powered by cheap and plentiful hydroelectricity. With its stable, democratic government, educated population, thriving tourism sector and coming off a low base, Hazaristan has recorded the fastest growing economy in Asia for each of the past three years. Hazaristan is a member of the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation
