The Ossorian Third Fleet (3FLT) is one of the standing numbered fleets of the Royal Ossorian Navy. The Third Fleet was first concentrated by the RON in 1620 as the White Squadron, one of the three color-coded squadrons of the Royal Navy at the time. At the time of its formation, the White Squadron was the vanguard of the fleet, and so the most aggressive captains were typically assigned to this formation. This tradition continued when the Squadron was redesignated as the Malian Squadron in 1642 and was relocated to the Éirne Islands with the task of harassing Shalumite shipping during the Naval Wars. The Squadron was again redesignated in 1714 as the Malian Fleet. With the outbreak of the Siduri War in 1934, the Fleet was redesignated for the final time as the Third Fleet. Today, the Third Fleet continues to serve as the RON's largest numbered fleet and primary strike formation and continues to be based out of BCR Leathros in the Kingdom of Éirne.
Despite the numerical designations, the Third Fleet takes precedence over the Second Fleet, which was originally formed as the Green Squadron and served as the center squadron of the fleet.
The modern Flag of Ossoria is derived from the battle ensign of the White Squadron, adopted as the national ensign due to the international recognition it gained while it served as the Squadron's emblem.
