AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1986
AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1986 is the twenty-ninth edition of the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. The competition was held as usual in 16th of May 1986 by the authorities of Radio Zafizamarrah. This is the twelveth time that Zafizamarrah hosted the competition after doing so previously in 1958, 1963, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1979, 1980, and 1984.
As the capital of the region of Zafizamarrah and the nation of North Alezia as a whole, Metropolitan Zafizamarrah has hosted the competition previously in nine out of twelve times that the region hosted the competition. The city itself has a population of 1,773,893 as of 1986, making it the biggest city in the region of Zafizamarrah and the nation of North Alezia as a whole. As the capital, the city hosted the government of North Alezia which are entirely situated in a block located in an island between the Old City and New City of Zafizamarrah called "Government Way".
This time, the competition was hosted in the Mall of Alezia Mega Theatre up the coast of the New City facing the Mall and Hotel of Alezia, where the complex faced the Ammarusayn River. While the theatre has never hosted ARFOS before, it was build on the land of the previous ARFOS venue of the Nur Ismaraddin Theatre. The Nur Ismaraddin Theatre was demolished in 1967 and the Mall of Alezia Movie Theatre was built over it in 1969, where it was opened together with the Mall and Hotel of Alezia complex.
Initially with its four screening rooms, the Theatre can only contain 500 people per screening room. At that time it was the most popular destination in Zafizamarrah as the theatre earned the first screening of new films, even limited foreign film screenings. However, as the economy recovered in 1984, the authorities of Mall and Hotel of Alezia added a megatheatre which is completed weeks before this year's ARFOS.
The Megatheatre can contain 5,852 people at its fullest extent making it Alezia's biggest Performing Arts Centre at the time. The Megatheatre is prepared with two side rooms where the left side was used for the year's orchestra pit, and the right side was used for the year's scrutineer and technical room.
