Loop 55 is a beltway in the state of West Monroe around the town of Appleton. The highway additionally serves as a bypass for West Monroe State Highway 7 around the town. The highway is built to "expressway" standards; not being entirely controlled access, but major junctions consist of grade separated interchanges.

Route description

SH 7 overlaps with Loop 55 and the two highways turn southeast before having an interchange with West Monroe State Highway 116. The beltway turns towards the north and has an interchange with SH 7, where it leaves the alignment. Loop 55 turns west at the interchange and has an interchange with West Monroe State Highway 105. Loop 7 starts turning southwest before arriving back at its start point with SH 7 (West Merchant Street).
