Balam is a superheroine appearing in Tennaiite comic books published by IC Comics. The character is a founding member of the League of Truth. The character first appeared in Superstar Comics #8 published October 27, 1941 with her first feature in Astounding Comics #1 in January 1942. The Balam title has been published by IC Comics almost continuously ever since. In her homeland, the island nation of Tamoanchan, her official title is Balam-Yatzil of Tamoanchan. When blending into society outside of her homeland, she sometimes adopts her civilian identity Bageshri Pavani.
