The Knight-class Offshore Patrol Vessel is a highly modular, multi-mission vessel in service with the Federation Navy.

Design

The class was designed to be able to carry out a wide variety of missions, but primarily to conduct short-range patrols or missions against possible threats in low-intensity scenarios. A modular design was brought about that in it's standard configuration would allow the vessel to conduct a reasonably ranged patrol of an area with the ability to sprint and chase down vessels with it's forward deck-gun and helicopter as necessary.

The highly modular design of the class allows it to be quickly transformed into what the Navy requires of it. The deck to the rear of the helipad can be converted from holding a larger interception boat to accommodating equipment for diver support, unmanned surface/sub-surface equipment and hydrographic research. Interior modularity allows the vessel to be transformed into a floating hospital, an intelligence-gathering centre or many more roles as necessary.

The vessel is, by default, armed with a single 76mm Super-Rapid deck-gun capable of firing 120 rounds per minute, which coupled with advanced rounds and guidance systems allows it to act as a fire support vessel as necessary or to utilise the weapon against enemy airborne materials. Two unmanned 25mm turrets on the roof allows the crew to fire upon intruders at closer ranges without risking harm to any crew-members.

Standard berthing aboard the vessel allows for a crew of 46 to be comfortably carried with room for 30 additional personnel and equipment.
