Sir Edmund Verey, KmV, was a Frankenlischian merchant and naval officer who served as Chief Victualler to the Royal Frankenlischian Navy. A career naval officer, Verey's uncle was the distinguished merchant Loughan Verey. Apprenticed on several of his uncle's merchant ships in his youth, Verey eventually sought a naval career in his early 20s which was helped by his marriage to Margarette Follerham, third daughter of Sir Walton Follerham, a prominent naval architect in Frankenlischian service. As a serving officer Verey never rose above the rank of Captain but was appointed to the role of Chief Victualler in 1641 and served as such until his death in 1659. Verey was considered a diligent and dutiful naval administrator by his contemporaries and was a significant member of the Navy Supply Board under the influence of his son-in-law, Edward de Martinden.
