Kurnow Brigade
The Kurnow Brigade was a revolutionary militia and later unit of the Arenlandic Armed Forces. It held an important role in the Kurnow Revolution and Third Arenland-Oritanth War. It is now a ceremonial unit, serving as an honor guard for presidential events, remembrances and military ceremonies.
Established in 1489 during the Kurnow Revolution, the Brigade was formed from a union of various smaller militias in the Kurnow region to coalesce their strength. The Brigade saw victory against royalist forces in the Battle of Charlie Hill, ending the government's military incursion into the recalcitrant Kurnow region. Following the outbreak of the Third Arenland-Oritanth War, the Brigade was instrumental in the formation of the Arenland Front which combatted the invading Oritanthan forces. Kurnow Brigade forces engaged the enemy in numerous battles throughout the conflict including at the Siege of Farbourne, Kurnow Incursion and Battle of Arenkau.
After the war's end, the Brigade was stood down with the creation of the Arenlandic Army, but was transformed into a ceremonial honor guard, in order to remember the revolutionary spirit of Kurnow.
