Surisjardinar
Surisjardinar is an overseas territory of The Ice States, located in Esvanovia. Surisjardinar was originally an independent nation in the form of Tol Insol, yet was conquered circa 1168 by the Empire of Icelandia and renamed into Surisjardinar by the same regime. Surisjardinar is comprised of two islands in South-Western Esvanovia, Vestuya in the West and Austuya in the East.
History
Surisjardinar is believed to have been first inhabited circa 230 by Tangaran immigrants. Not much is known about this period in history, except that a subsequent wave of immigrants arrived circa 280 from Der RE. A subsequent war occurred between these settlers, resulting in Tangarans occupying Austuya and Arvolken occupying Vestuya. However, eventually cross-breeding and immigration between the islands resulted in a new Tol Insoli race being formed by 1000.
The Icelandi invasion took place circa 1168, following the discovery of Tol Insol by Icelandi expeditionary forces in Esvanovia. A full invasion force was sent the same year to occupy Tol Insol, which first entered Austuya through its Northern coast. A bloody confrontation took place at the Bay of Austuya, known as the Austuya Massacre, Icelandi forces attacked Tol Insoli civilians near the coast, occupying the Bay of Austuya. Further Tol Insoli defenses were thus organised throughout the island as well as Vestuya; however the whole island of Austuya would promptly come under Icelandi occupation within merely three months.
Meanwhile, a mission was conducted to occupy Vestuya following the Austuya Massacre. The initial invasion would be promptly repelled by native forces; resulting in the island being entirely surrounded Icelandi forces on the sea. After the invasion of Austuya was completed, Tol Insoli forces worked to remove the Icelandi presence surrounding Vestuya. However, this mission would fail, resulting in an invasion of Vestuya by Icelandi forces from the entire coast. The area would subsequently be annexed as a colony of Icelandia.
Geography
Surisjardinar is composed of two islands: Vestuya and Austuya. Austuya covers 1492 thousand km2, while Vestuya covers 592 thousand km2. Vestuya is to the Southwest of Austuya. There is approximately 1748 km between the nearest points of Vestuya and Austuya.
