Vellicosia, officially the Kingdom of Vellicosia (Vellicosian: Kíngrik ov Ƿendischland), is a Monarchy located in Eastern Euronia in the Coalition of Crown Albatross. The Vellicosian capital is Rivenburg, the largest city of the country.

Etymology

Vellicosia stems from the Latin Bellicosia, from the union of bellicosus, from earlier bellicus, meaning "warlike", and the suffix ia denoting a place or country. The nation, renowned for its warrior culture, fierce military tradition, and frequent raids and wars upon neighboring states, was thus referred to by Latin-speakers as the warlike-land. The native Ƿendischland stems from three roots: Ƿend, from Old Vellicosian Ƿend, from Proto-Germanic *winidaz, meaning "Wend"; the suffix isch, from Old Vellicosian isċ, from Proto-Germanic *iskaz, meaning "pertaining to" or "characteristic of"; and land, meaning "country" or "territory", whence English Wendland and Wendishland. Ƿendischland thus means "Wendish-land" or "land of the Wends."
