Fermo, almost entirely known as Bigfoot, are a group of omnivorous ground-dwelling great apes that primarily inhabit North America and the Himalayas. They are the only living native primates in North America other than humans. They are split into two species, the North American Fermo and the Asian Fermo, further divided into five subspecies. The genus shares most of its DNA with humans, and are theorized to be more closely related to humans than chimps are, but a lack of fossils to go off has made this currently unconfirmed. The two species are notable for being known as cryptids and legends for decades, which has lent credence to government organizations such as the NBAS and DSDPD.
