AleziRadio Festival of Songs 2008 is the fifty-first edition of the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. The competition was held as usual in 16th of May 2008 by the authorities of PyaliRadio (PR). This is the eleventh time that Pyalivostok hosted the competition, and the sixth time that the festival was held in the region's capital, Pyalivostokgrad. The 2008 Festival marked Pyalivostokgrad as tied second most hosting together with Basna with six hostings in their city, only behind Metropolitan Zafizamarrah who has hosted thirteen times.

Pyalivostok was granted the hosting rights immediately after the 2007 festival was won by Pyalivostokian male soloist Andi Robi Idris Novogrody who sung "Любить тебя и меня". After the victory was announced, the regional government and PyaliRadio opened submissions for cities who were interested on hosting the festival. The same bidding process like the one used to select the previous year's host was once again utilized. This year also includes 225 people including 150 members of the ARFOS Preparation Committee and 75 members of the public. However the voting process to pick the venue for this year remained secret until three venues remained due to the concerns that the long process of voting could cause disadvantages between bids, and due to the low-quality bids presented to the AleziRadio Festival of Songs' Hosting Committee last year, and as such, three venues remained in the bidding process, while the other venues' names remains a secret and is never announced to this day. All three has previously hosted ARFOS before.

City Venue Capacity Votes
Pyalivostokgrad Summer Artistic Auditorium (Mikhali Arena) 45,000 118
Pyalivostokgrad Krakovisech Theatre and Performing Arts Centre 12,000 55
Saint Auron Sankt-Auvonskovsky Ice Rink 18,000 52

The selection of the Summer Artistic Auditorium was announced on 25th of January 2007 together with the announcement that Sankt-Auvonskovsky Ice Rink will host both the cultural week and the AleziRadio Choral Competition, while Krakovisech will host the press conferences. Normally, the second place will host the Independence Award and press conferences, and the third place will host the cultural week and the Choral Competition. However, due to circumstances regarding the venues, the positions are swapped.

The Summer Artistic Arena (Russian: Летняя художественная аудитория, Letnyaya khudozhestvennaya auditoriya) has hosted the AleziRadio Festival before in 2006 with a capacity of 35,000 and has an orchestra pit installed. The same facilities are used for the event once again, but 10,000 additional seats were installed in anticipation of the AleziRadio Festival of Songs. The Arena had been previously used to host the Summer Artistic Festival which were held annually in Pyalivostokgrad since 1989 where the festival hosted summer-themed spectacle of dance and music. Observed from space, the arena would be shaped like a sun with the main auditorium in the center. Before the festival, some upgrades and redesigns were made to the venue, with the most important being the upgrading of the sound system from ARICO Mus.sys 2930-S made in 1995 to a much more modern ARICO Mus.sys 3128 made in 2006, added with borrowed ARICO Mus.sys-mini 83 used for the 2005 festival previously. The result was a sound system met with positive acclaim with some saying that it is the "best sound system used in the festival in the 2000s". Eventually, sound upgrades were made again as technological advances from ARICO arrives with ARICO Mus.sys 4109-PL, which is an upgrade from the previous systems used from 2006-2007.

This year, three contestants returned after previously competing in the AleziRadio Festival of Songs. Zafizamarranian winner for 1971 Madina Sawfana returned, which was considered a surprise back then. Additionally, both returning entries from AleziRadio Festival of Songs 2000 also returned consisting of Bristolian Elis Ryman and Pantabang Islander Marie Cheluisie Dadon.
