Eskavia (Eskavian: Eskävut), officially the Eskavian Confederacy (Eskavian: Kopläjukvo Eskävut), is a sovereign state in Elia Boreal. It lies between the Free States to the X and the Alconian Ocean to the west.
Humans have inhabited Eskavia for at least 12,000 years. The region is widely recognized by archeologists as one of the world's cradles of civilization, with the Eskavianic civilization emerging during the 9th century BC. At its height between the 10th and 14th centuries AD, Classical Eskavia was home to numerous city-states centered around complex earthworks and connected by a sophisticated network of roads. The Catabolic Crisis of the mid-14th century caused significant environmental effects that resulted in famine, social upheaval, and the collapse of Classical Eskavianic civilization. Eskavian society re-organized during the early 15th century under the Eskavian Confederacy, an alliance of six city-states led by the hegemonic Kingdom of Väsjomok. By the time Calesian explorers arrived in 15XX, the Confederacy was the most powerful political entity in Elia Boreal.
