His Highness Pujari Adhineta is a Mel-akkan civil servant, politician, and theologist serving as the current Honoured Elder of Mel-akkam since April 2019, as well as the leader of the centrist political party Coalition of Independents. From 27 July to 10 October of 2023, he also served as Leader of the Government, heading an interim coalition supported by all major parties.

Early Life

Adhineta was born to a working-class family in Amri Province. He excelled academically and won a scholarship to study at Cambridge University. He subsequently became a civil servant and theologist.

Political Positions

Adhineta adheres to centrist and technocratic political stances. He has declared himself to be pro-choice, supportive of LGBT rights, and moderately liberal in economic matters. He takes usually pro-Western stances, and has condemned the 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine.
