An indirect presidential election was held in China on 21 March 2015 to elect the president of China. Members of the National Assembly elected the president.Incumbent president Mǎ Yīngjioǔ of the Kuomintang was ineligible for re-election due to term limits. Kuomintang nominee Jū Lìlúen won a supermajority of the electorate, beating Communist nominee Lǐ Kèchiáng. Additionally running was Dīng Jǔnglǐ of the China Democratic League, who received 56 electoral votes.
The result of the presidential election in a Kuomintang victory was never seriously questioned. The Kuomintang already held over a majority of seats in the National Assembly, guaranteeing their candidate's election. Kuomintang candidate Ju Liluen was inaugurated on 20 May 2015.
