The Battle of the Moselle was the opening battle of the Sieuxerrian-Saintonge War, sparking Sieuxerr's involvement in the Pan-Septentrion War. The battle took place along the entirety of the Mosselle River between Sieuxerr and Saintonge. With support from its allies, Saintonge would see early advances in a number of areas across the river, however as Sieuxerrian forces rapidly reacted to the fighting, Saintonge beachheads would be greatly hinder, and at some points totally reduced. However the total breakthrough in the south after the disaster at the Battle of Montberthault and the establishment of capable pontoon bridges that allowed for Saintongian armor to cross would see Army Group 3 conduct a coordinated withdraw in conjunction with the withdraws and Army Group 4 and Army Group 5.
