Overview
Azurnailia, or the United Independent Republics of Azurnailia, is a large nation located on the Azur Subcontinent. It is a Semi Presidential Republic with a representative legislature. With 23 Republics, 2 Colonies and a Federal Administrative district, it spans the entiretry of the Azur Subcontinent. It also has 3 Puppet governments in New Iwate, New Kyuto and the Absolute Azgarian State. Azurnailia is a member of the Democratic Assembly and has a stance against Communism and Totalritarianism.
Etymology
Azurnailia's name originaly came from the nearby waters of Agano lake, which resides in the middle of the country, Iwatean Colonizers said that it was "an Azur lake as pristine as the gods" Thoigh originaly the colony was called New Azgaria, it was later changed to Azurnailia. After the fall of Iwate and the reunification of the island, the name stuck around even though Azalia was considering to keep Azalia it was by popular demand that it was kept as Azurnailia
History
The history of the Azur Islands go back to -1800BC, when early tribes settled near Agano lake, these tribes fought with eachother, looking to secure the lake's natural river. That contained gold. One major figure was Hozumi Akai, the ruler of Wanomaru. However, due to an unknown Disaster, most likely a plague of the flu strain, killed off most of the inhabitants. All that remains of the early people were writings and scripts. Detailing Wanomaru as a holy kingdom ruled by Akai, and that he unified the island to its western coast.
In 1422, The Empire of Iwate, a major power to the west, sailed east to find more land. They found the island and its southern neighbor, Gohan. Gohan was then a confederation of tribes that united after the Azgarian god "Tewa" said that a danger was coming. Iwate began to push Gohan out of their homes, eventualy forcing the native inhabitants to retreat to what is now known as Igoskyrich. Meanwhile, Iwate established 4 mandates to maintain their control over the isles, Azurnailia resided in the Azgarian Mandate. (Yes, the Iwateans stole from the Gohanians)
In 1493, Iwate had an internal revolution, causing the Abdication of the Iwatean Emperor, this caused the Mandates to revolt. Sadly, the Azgarian mandate compleately colasped due to outside influence, mainly from Gohan. Gohan began to take advantage of the shattered Azurnailians and began colonizing the west. Those who decided to submit to Gohan became the Colony of Eueirosia, and the Gohanian Colonies. However several countries prized their sovereignty, this caused the West Azurnailian Conflicts where the Nachi Empire, Momosuki, The Azgarian Brotherhood and the Viceroyalty of Yu Dao capitulating, with the Free worker's movement and the Azur Liberation front to go into hiding. Meanwhile in the east, there was chaos. With many fighting to gain control of fort Tokyahama, a strategic point located in a natural bay. However the militristic Azalia united the East in 1786, unable to advance beyond the wastes which seperated the east and the west.
On the 5th of November 1789, Azalian Sloops Imura and Reisen were attacked by Gohanian Frigate Xing En which resulted in the start of the Winter war (Or commonly referred to as the First Azur-Gohan war) The war was destined to happen, as tensions between the two countries reached a new high. In the war, Gohan made major strides, landing near Tokyahama and besieging the city for 17 days and nights before cavalry arrived and broke through the lines. After the final battle of Xa Li, Gohan ceeded all their western Colonies to Azalia, who renamed themselves to the Azurnailian Socialist Republic.
Eventualy in 1828, the hands of politics switched sides. The Azur party, a center-right party that was based from the Azur Liberation front, was elected into power. This marked a new era for Azurnailia which now focused more on the economy, which had begun to sloghtly decline. This may be due to the ruling party, the National Azurnailian Workers' party, spliting into two, the NAWP and the Azurnailian Democratic Social Nationalist Party (ADSNP). The Yu dao party was founded, based around the ideals of the Viceroyalty.
But things took a turn for the worst in 1840, which saw the military coup of 1840. Led by Kako Asumi, a major general and Martyr of the Absolute Azgarian cause. He forcefuly took control of the country and created the National military order of Azgaria. The people were subject to harsh treatment, which saw the rule of "The Two Swords" take place. However, the Azur Liberation front, and the People's (Originaly Worker's) front united to form the Azurnailian Freedom front, which started the Azurnailian Civil war, which saw the Abdication of Asumi, who may have died. Peace was restored in Azurnailia.
Azurnailia attempted to stay out of the Franco-Flumen war, however Azurnailia and the Western Pact was drawn in, contributing towards the Allied victory and the destruction of the French Reich. After that, a period of peace came, with the Economic boom of the 30s and the end of the second world war between Iwate, Sirelia and Daguo. Azurnailia had some time of peace. However it would not last for long as asteroid Naka-1960 was rapidly approching the country. In response to this, the rapid production of Project 1, (Or referred to as stonehenge) was sped up even further, finishing 6 months early. When Stonehenge fired on the Asteroid, the Asteroid split into 100 smaller pieces, which fell on Azurnailia and Gohan, this caused the developmentation of "Shipgirls" and the second Azur-Gohan war. Which resulted with Gohan giving Hyugano and Fuyuzuki to Azurnailia.
Than in 2024, the third world war (Referred to as the Great Trial) started between Fascistan and the Council against Fascism (Later the Democratic Assembly) WHich resulted in the partial division of Africa, and the creation of the AzurKommissarriats, Than A Fascist Azgarian coup failed, forcing the Azgarians to move to East New Iwate. Than New Kyuto became Communist with the creation of the Refined NAW Party (Or Refined Communist Party for short) However Azurnailia looks to the future, continuing to progress.
Politics
The government is lead by Ishiki Osumaru, the Speaker of Congress for Azurnailia. The country is rulled by Ishikawa Kyumi, the president of Azurnailia. The government is split into 4 branches (Quadameral) The Executive, The Legislature, The Judicial and The People’s Commerce. The Executive is the President and his cabinet, as of right now, the President is a Azur Party member (Rightist) There are 10 cabinet members (3 Azur party, 3 National Azurnailian Socialist Party, 2 Absolute Azgarism(Burgundy System), 2 Yu Dao party(Rightist Azgarism). The president can only serve 3 terms of 2 years. Currently, Ishikawa is currently serving her first term and reelection will occur in July of 2026. The Legislature is split into two houses, The State’s represenatives and The People’s Represenatives. Each state gets 2 State reps. and 10 People reps. The Majority of the house goes to the Azur party, then NASP, than the Independence party. In total there are 15 diffrent political parties. But, all follow 5 diffrent ideologies: Rightist, Leftist Socialism, Absolute Azgarism, Rightist Azgarism and Independence. The Judicial branch is made for rulings and for Checks and Balances. There are 5 Judges on the Court of the land. The People’s Commerce is a seperate branch that controls the Financing of the country. There are 17 Bankers and 23 Accountants. Instead of having Political parties behind them, they have Corperations. Such as Reppū industries, Nuecom and General Resource Ltd, and Mitsuhara inc..
Demographics
Azurnailia's population is estimated at 1,093,840,000 in the May 2015 Census, most of the country is urban, and one-fith of the population lives in rural areas. The nation's largest ethnic group is Azurnailian, who comprise 77% of the population, the other ethnic populations being Old Iwatean (15%) and other unlisted groups (Gohanian, Yendorian, Yokohanian, Azgarian). (18%)
Economy
The economy is a widely diversified Capatilistic sociaty that runs on Azuenailian yen. The economy is somewhat regulated by the government via the People’s Comerce. However besides that, its not major. The economy is led by Azur Lane Ltd and Reppū industries, two large arms manufacturing powerhouses that make the equipment for the Navy and Air force. Insurence also plays a large role, with the Azurnailian National Insurence Agency (ANIA) being the third largest company within the country. Other major companies include: Nuecom, General Resourse Ltd., two very large conglomerates, Raiden Uranium Factories & mining and Tenryū airspace.
Language
The main language for Azurnailia is Azalian, which has a diffrent dilect in the Kyuto area. Other major languages contains: Azgarian, Old Iwatean and Rekunian
Military
Azurnailia's armed forces consist of over 300 million, being split into three major branches, the Army, the Donryu force and the Azur lane. The Azurnailian Army (AA) is acutualy small compared to the giants of the Azur Lane and Donryū force. Though is still powerful in its own might. The Azur lane (AL) is the main naval force fo Azurnailia. A transition from what was once originaly ships, to self sentiant girls who can fight on their own. They are pn of the larger areas of the Armed forces, making up about 23% of the millitary. There are 9 sectors that split the Asiatic ocean, one for each fleet. The fleets are: Eagle Union, Iron Blood, Sakura Empire, Royal navy, Northern Parliment, Sardgenia Empire, Dragon Empary, Iris Libre and Vichiya Dominion. Some equipment of the navy (The ones that the Shipgirls equip) Are made by Reppū industries and the Mitsuhara Corperation. However the main provider is Azur Lane Ltd., the largest company in Azurnailia. The navy also sometimes fights alongside the army, and some serve as river fleets, keeping violent uprisings at bay. Each sector has its regional flagship. They are (In the same order as above):AZL Enterprise, AZL Bismark, AZL Nagato, AZL, Queen Elisabeth, AZL Sovitskya Soyuz, AZL Littorio, AZL Yat Sen, AZL Richelieu and AZL Jean Bart. All of these ships are powered by the Wisdom cube (Sometimes called the Omega Cube or E-cubes) It is what drives them, and gives them their shape and form. The largest and most powerful part of the Azurnailian Armed Forces is the Donryū force, the air force. Once was spearheaded by the Akashi Works, now lead by Reppū industries and Tenryū airspace. With a large size of almost 7.5 thousand planes.
