A Ngandu is a traditional, blunt or pointed, oval shaped wooden shield used by the Muntua people of Eastern TBA. Currently, it is used for sporting events and ceremonial purposes.
The shield ranges from 4.2 feet to 4.8 depending on region, and is typically carved out of a single piece of wood, including the handle. Unlike other Muntuan shields, it's primary purpose wasn't for melee, but protection against projectile weapons, especially spears.
