The Universal Support Weapon (USW) was designed to replace two heavy infantry support weapons in Arthuristan service: the Browning HMG and the Mk19. The operator can use the attached viewfinder screen, laser rangefinder and miniature ballistics-computer to program the munition to airburst at a designated range. The USW system can be converted into a heavy machine gun chambered in 12.7x99 BMG in 1.5 seconds. When manpacked, it is divided between two crew members, one carrying the gun and the other the tripod, as a result of the weapon's greatly reduced weight compared to the Browning M2 and the Mk19. A platoon of nine is available to each infantry battalion.
