Marcus Commidus was a Roman general, senator and a prominent commander during the Slavo-Roman War of 1855-59, he rose to prominence after his charge against a heavily fortified Slavic position. In later years he became a high ranking senator of the Roman Empire and a close friend of the renowned Flavius Stilicho.
