Codzilla vs. SpaceCodzilla (Radictistani: Codzilla gegen SpaceCodzilla) is a Radictistan action-comedy film released in 2017. It is the fifth film of the popular Codzilla franchise. In the film, Earth is threatened by SpaceCodzilla, a spacefaring fish monster inadvertently created by the irradiation of fish balls intended as food for the crew of a new Radictistani space station. The film was a success at the Radictistani box office, grossing R$187 million.

Plot

An unmanned cargo spacecraft bound for a new Radictistani space station is readied for launch. The spacecraft is launched successfully but suffers a catastrophic failure while attempting to dock with the station. The spacecraft is destroyed along with most of its cargo. However, several fish balls survive and are mutated by cosmic rays. A small fish-like creature emerges from the fish balls. It quickly grows into a giant Cod. The monster attacks the space station and destroys it. An anti-satellite missile fails to destroy the monster. In desperation, engineers at the Radictistan Space Agency construct a giant spacesuit. Codzilla is lured into the Breitgolf using an underwater telephone then launched into space. After a long fight, Codzilla defeats and kills the monster then returns to Earth.

Production

Codzilla vs. SpaceCodzilla was the first Codzilla film not to be directed by Rudolf Krossmeier. The film was instead directed by Konrad Fein. The film's score was composed by John Marks replacing Edgar Kodebov. Codzilla vs. SpaceCodzilla was shot at 2.8k resolution with the Wotan Spitzer camera.
