Suleiman Khan was an Islamic banker in the Kingdom of Great Britain and the father of Sir Alexander Khan.
Early life
Born in 1938 in Peshawar, his father was a soldier in the British Indian Army who later fought in the Burma Campaign in the Second World War. He went to University in Islamabad studying Business Studies. Business career
He set up one of Britain's first Islamic bank in 1955. He moved to England in the 1950s as he realised that the many Muslim immigrants to the United Kingdom from the Commonwealth would want Islamic banking.
personal life He married an English woman and in 1969 they had a son Sir Alexander Khan.
