Conscription in Sharifistan refers to mandatory military service by Sharifistani men in the Sharifistani Army or Air Cavalry.

In 2020, the age of conscription was lowered from 18 to 16.

deferments

Deferments exist for: Students undertaking military training (students at high school or University engaged in Army Cadets, Space Cavalry Cadets, Air Cavalry Cadets or Officer Training Corps) and those temporarily unfit to serve.

exemptions

Exemptions can be offered on the grounds of unfitness to serve, imprisonment, employment in the Sharifistani Health Service, the Royal Sharifistani Navy, a Fire And Rescue Service or in a mosque, homosexuality (though homosexuals can choose to do military service if they so wish) or conscientious objections. Most conscientious objectors, however go into the Medical Corps or the new Non-Combatant Regiments.
