The Imperial Army Alpinoes, sometimes simply referred to as the Alpinoes are a special operations capable light infantry force considered to be part of the Imperial Army's special forces command, and is the oldest special operations force within the Imperial military, dating back to the Royal Alpine Forces established by he Kingdom of Temuair in 1675. The Alpinoes specialize in combat operations taking place in mountainous and arctic climates. The Alpinoes consist of four active duty brigades and two reserve brigade.
As part of the Imperial Army's special forces command, the Alpinoes are entitled to wear berets bearing their distinctive unit color. Alpinoes units can be identified by their tan berets.
