The Ministry of Defence is a Anikatian government ministry charged with the responsibility to defend Anikatia and its national interests. The Anikatian Minister of Defence is the nominal head of all the Armed Forces, serving under the president of Anikatia, who is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Anikatia. In this capacity, the minister exercises day-to-day administrative and operational authority over the armed forces. The executive body of the Ministry of Defence, implements the defence minister's operational instructions and orders. The Ministry is accountable to the Anikatian Parliament, on behalf of the Anikatian people, for the efficiency and effectiveness with which it carries out the Government's defence policy.
