Torchina (Marian: Turchina), officially the Second Republic of Torchina (Marian: Seconda Repubblica di Turchina) is a sovereign state located in the south of Vreya on the planet of Bacchus. A federal republic, the country occupies the bulk of Marian peninsula, as well as extending into the Vreyan Alps, the Odyssean Islands, and various smaller islands off the coast of the continent and the island chain. The country's mainland is bordered to the east and to the west by the Marenostro, and the same sea surrounds the countries various islands.
Historically, what is now Torchina was the heartland of the Toscan Empire, although significant migratory periods prior to the formation of the empire, and after its collapse, have seen the region populated by various cultures.
