There are seven types of official elections in Neo Kingston: elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the Senate, United Neo Nations Presidential elections, elections to the Parliament of the United Neo Nations, county and city council elections, mayoral elections and Police & Crime Commissioner elections. Elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate are often paired and referred to as general elections, while elections to county and city councils and mayoral elections are also often paired and referred to as local elections.

General elections

General elections in Neo Kingston are held following a dissolution of Parliament. Traditionally, general elections included the election of all of the Members of Parliament (MPs) who form the House of Representatives. Following the Senate Reform Act of 2016, 95 of the 100 Senators who sit in the Senate are also elected with the other 5 being appointed by the President.
