The Northern Arctic Islands
Northern Arctic Islands Overview
The Federation of The Northern Arctic Islands (NAI for short) is a small island republic situated in the Arctic Part of the ocean between Thaudia and Caleren, called the Hagalaz Ocean.
NAI's main industry is fishing, with Shipping coming in 2nd. NAI has an extensive history with fish and shipping, dating back to the colonial era.
NAI has a population of around 5.7 million citizens, with it's capital holding about 2.3 million of those citizens. The capital is named New Tórshavn, and is the centre of culture for The NAI.
Most food in NAI is based off fish and berries, with it being hard to grow usual crops in the weather. NAI citizens get their carbohydrates via potatos, which have evolved on the islands to withstand the cold of the arctic.
NAI has an extensive fixation on space flight and defence, with the country spending just over half it's income on military research and space flight. So far, The NAI's space agency (The Arctic Space Union) has had leaps and bounds in it's tech development.
NAI's military is named The Arctic Defence Forces. The ADF tends to the nation's security needs, with exstensive research into artillery and anti-air weaponry.
