West Prussia (German: Westpreußen), officially the United German Provinces (German: Vereinigte Deutsche Provinzen), is a sovereign state located in Central Europe. The nation is bordered in the north by Pomerania, to the east by Poland, in the south by Saxony, Lusatia, and Silesia, and in the west by Hesse and Hanover.
The current government of Pomerania was founded in 1990 following the collapse of the communist Prussian Democratic Republic (Preußisch Demokratische Republik). It renamed itself to West Prussia to avoid confused with East Prussia (who gain independence from the Soviet Union in 1991)
