The company operates in many countries around the world and has a couple hundred stores.
History
Founding
Gemina was founded in early 2002 in Yad Mordechai by Hiraoka Mina. Mina had reportedly started conceptualizing the brand as far back as 1998. In early 2001 Mina became pregnant with her second child and first son (Hiraoka Ichiro). While on break from modeling due to the pregnancy, Mina decided to quit modeling and found her own brand, which became Gemina. In early 2001 Mina started working on the launch of the brand. In November of 2001 Mina gave birth to Ichiro and two months later, in January of 2002, Gemina was launched.
Introduction of Menswear
In 2011 with high anticipation Gemina introduced Menswear to the brand. Both the Spring-Summer and Autumn-Winter shows that Gemina held in 2011 featured men's cardigans, pants, shoes, shirt, and accessories. However to this day Gemina's clothing is primarily dominated by feminine and gender neutral clothing rather than masculine clothing.
