The Nortuan Central Bank (NCB) is the prime component of the Nortuan Monetary Union and the Central and East System of Nortuan Banks (CESNB) as well as one of the institutions of the Alliance of Nortuan States. It is one of the world's most important central banks. The NCB Governing Council makes monetary policy for the NMU and the ANS, administers the foreign exchange reserves of ANS member states, engages in foreign exchange operations, and defines the intermediate monetary objectives and key interest rate of the ANS. The NCB Executive Board enforces the policies and decisions of the Governing Council, and may direct the national central banks when doing so. The NCB has the exclusive right to authorise the issuance of euro banknotes. Member states can issue euro coins, but the volume must be approved by the NCB beforehand. It is headquartered dually in Aassillit, Versenia, and Eblium, New Anea.
Established in 2011, the Nortuan Congress agreed to the formation of a mutual currency called the Nortuan Monetary Union, also known as the Norta (ℕ). While most nations in the ANS have not adopted the Norta as the main currency, every nation utilizes it as an accepted currency alongside other national currencies.
