Conrad Joseph Dalton (born July 5, 1951) is an American lawyer and politician who serves as the 45th and current president of the United States since 2013. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the 15th and 18th director of Central Intelligence under presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush and was deputy director under Ronald Reagan.
Dalton was born in West Covina, California, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on his 18th birthday in 1969 during the Vietnam War and quickly rose through the ranks becoming a lieutenant colonel in 1975. He later went on to earn his Bachelor's and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Southern California and joined the Central Intelligence Agency in 1980. Dalton became the youngest deputy director of the CIA in history at age 34.
