The Bir Khaliq massacre took place in the village of Bir Khaliq, 25 kilometers south-east of Dar Al Hamma, in the night from April 3 1996 to April 4 1996.
144 of the 804 citizens were slaughtered by the AIM. This is the first major massacre of the Salamati Civil War.
