Enrique Sehima Yanama (9 July, 1987 - 11th December, 2055) was the first Grand Premier of the Federal Union of Guadalupador, and the head of the New Yaman Transitional Government. In 2013, he was elected as the Grand Premier, a position that he held until he retired from Guadalupadorian politics in 2023. He was a dominant figure in Guadalupadorian politics and culture following the Guadalupadorian Civil War and the subsequent Cold War with Gran Cuscatlan, and his legacy continues to influence Guadalupadorian politics.

Early life

Enrique Yanama was born July 9th, 1987 in Avijanos, Guadalupador to Linda Yanama an artillery spotter in the Guadalupadorian Army, and Wylem Yanama chief librarian at the University of Olahn. Yanama was named after an ancestor whom was a first-generation immigrant that fought in the Guadalupadorian Army during the War of Unification. Yanama had three other siblings: Wari (1982-2013), Elena (b. 1990), and Pyetro, nicknamed "Pedro" (1992-2028). Shortly after his birth, the family moved from Avijanos to the capital Olahn.

Primary education

In Olahn, Enrique Yanama spent the majority of his childhood socializing with other children. Yanama said that he "took after his mother when it came to his social skills." Throughout his years in high school, Yanama became known to his peers as "The Diplomat" on account of his glibness, and ability to mediate issues. Yanama graduated from high school in 2005, and enrolled at the University of Olahn later that year.

Secondary education and public service

Yanama studied public policy, and international development during his time at the University before he was approached by the Guadalupadorian Ministry of State Affairs, offering him an opportunity to serve in the diplomatic corps. After graduating with honors from the University of Olahn, Yanama transferred straight into the Guadalupadorian Diplomatic Corps, working at several embassies and diplomatic consulates around the world.

Return to Guadalupador

After two years of service in the Diplomatic Corps, Yanama returned to Guadalupador to aid in recovery efforts following Guadalupadorian Civil War. Arriving in January of 2013, Yanama quickly rose up through the civilian chain of command eventually being elected by the National Assembly to become Grand Premier of the Federal Union of Guadalupador. At first, Yanama refused the appointment, remarking that he wanted to wait until Guadalupador could be stabilized enough to conduct national elections for the position. In August 2013, Yanama ran for Grand Premier against two other candidates and won the popular vote on a platform of further political stabilization, and "a return to normalcy." Yanama seemed relatively unwilling to be the leader of the Federal Union of Guadalupador though he put his reservations aside to serve as Grand Premier, putting country over self.

First term as Grand Premier (2013-2018)

During Yanama's first term as Grand Premier he oversaw further political stabilization within the country, and expanded Guadalupador's diplomatic base, opening up relations with numerous countries that had not been encountered by the Dorians. It was also during his first term, just several months following his election, first diplomatic contact was made with Gran Cuscatlan, as Yanama fiercely criticized Caudillo Carlos Silva's harsh treatment of LGBT+ protesters. Guadalupadorian/Cuscatlani relations would have a rocky start as Yanama invited Silva to visit Guadalupador to mend relations in late October 2013. Both men came back from their short summit empty-handed, but with a mild respect for one another.

Yanama was also integral in spearheading the Guadalupadorian military response to Bethuanan aggression in the spring of 2014. Yanama issued a formal declaration of war on Bethuana passed by the National Assembly following a Martinezist coup in the country threatened and attacked Guadalupador's allies in the region.

Following the short Bethuana War, and "supposed acts of treachery by Gran Cuscatlan to break the united front against Bethuana" Yanama closed off Guadalupadorian/Cuscatlani relations, insisting that the Cuscatlani creation of another Martinezist/Integralist state in the region was a threat to lasting peace. Yanama begrudgingly accepted the existence of Tragenberg as a legitimate state at the behest of Kirishinan Diriegeant Satsuki Kiryuin to ensure that for the moment, another war would not break out following the conclusion of the War in Bethuana. Yanama, in response to the establishment of Tragenberg, ordered a permanent contingent of Guadalupadorian troops to be stationed in the region to help deter Tragenbergan ambition. Further Cuscatlani/Guadalupadorian relations plummeted as Yanama repeatedly called out further Cuscatlani intervention around the world as "illegal acts of war and devastation."

Yanama later ordered a military intervention against the Ehrenkost Socialist State in 2015, resulting in an extensive and successful air campaign against the Stalinist state.

In December 2015, Yanama survived an assassination attempt by a would-be assassin that held Martinezist political views, but was working independent of any Martinezist political sphere. After one week in the hospital, Yanama rang in the new year by passing a comprehensive overhaul of the Guadalupadorian Federal Tax System, introducing a flat proportional income tax of 8.5%.

In May 2016, Yanama secretly married his long-time girlfriend, Samia Ryueva. The couple would have two children, Manco Yanama, in 2020, and Drusilla Yanama in 2024.
