Old Uncle Blue was a jumbosan indie folk band formed in Carsaille, Victoire, by college friends Vespasien Baudelaire, Thibault D'aubert and Florian Auclair. They were active from 1989 to 1993. The band's music featured a deliberately low-quality sound, influenced by indie rock and indie folk, but it was also inspired by the rising College Folk scene that Old Uncle Blue was a part of. Baudelaire wrote poetic lyrics that covered a wide range of topics, including love, spirituality, nostalgia, sex, and loneliness. The band was famous for using a wide variety of instruments in their music one typically wouldn't associate with indie folk.
