The prime minister of Puerto Rico (Spanish: primer ministro de Puerto Rico) is the head of government of Puerto Rico. The current officeholder is Pedro Pierluisi, leader of the Democratic Party of Puerto Rico, whom was elected on 24 March 2021. In line with the country's practice of the Westminster system, the prime minister is typically the leader of the largest party of the elected House of Representatives, and therefore governs with the majority support of the lower house of Parliament. Once elected into office, the prime minister is responsible for choosing the ministers that collectively make up the Cabinet, of which the prime minister is its chair.
