The Tarperti football league system, is a series of association football leagues in Tarper bound together via the use of promotion and relegation. The pyramid is made up of four professional leagues with one division each, five semi-professional leagues with one division each, and nine state leagues (Bergfeld, Citrone, and Terraum use the Meerland, Nordstrand, and Astra state leagues repectively) with four divisions. At the end of each season, the best-placing teams in each division are promoted to the next higher up league or division in the pyramid, while the worst-placing teams are relegated. Therefore, in theory, a minuscule village club can rise to the premier league and become football champions.
National league system
Divisions one through three of the pyramid are organized by the Tarperti Football League. The topmost league, the Tarperti Premier League, is directly organized by the Tarperti Football Federation. Clubs in any of the four leagues are eligible to qualify for the later stages of the Imperial Challenge Cup, where any club from the 10 divisions can compete and possibly win.
Regional league system
Below the professional leagues are semi-professional leagues directly organized by the TFF. Clubs competing at the regional level are organised into five leagues, which are further organized into divisions 4, 5, and 6. Clubs at the regional level also participate in the Imperial Challenge Cup.
State league system
At the bottom of the pyramid are clubs competing in amateur local leagues organized by state football associations. Clubs at this level are organized into state leagues with four divisions. The clubs of these leagues make up the starting rounds of the Imperial Challenge Cup. The pyramid ends here at division 10.
