Isle of Fatima is an archipielago located in the Caribbean that until 2017 was constituted as an overseas department and region of France. It consists in four inhabited islands as well as many uninhabited islands.
History
The pre-colonial era of the island is marked by the inhabitance of indigenous groups. It is believed that before 4000 BCE there was a war between the Arawak and Karib groups in which the last ones prevailed and the Arawak were displaced and moved to other islands far away. The Ziî Maor (Major Island) was first attended by Christopher Columbus in 1497 and he gave it the current name to the islands.
