general elections was held in Alvsberg on 21 July 2022 to elect all 174 members of the Riksting. The election was supposed to be held in 2023 but due to the 2022 government crisis and the Riksting being unable to elect a new government a snap election was ordered. The election has been described as the most polarizing in Alvsbergish history, due to the large support of right wing populism and the three way split in coalitions which has never happened in Alvsbergish history either. The Centre Party had its worst results in its history since the 80's, lossing its spot as the forfront of Alvsbergish politics and a large portion of the rural voters. The Greens Party which had stayed extra parliamentary untill then managed to get over 2 procent and got 4 seats. On 23 July 2022 the Social Democrats , Left Party and People's Party agreed to form a Red Yellow coalition with the support of the Pirate Party and the Greens.
