Koorrana officially and internationally recognized as the People's Democratic Socialist Republic of Koorrana is a country located in Oceania, covering around 8 million square kilometres and the most populated cities in the continent-island. It is home to 31 million inhabitants, most of them of Aboriginal-origin or Aboriginal ancestry. Cronulangatta is the capital and largest city. Formed by many islands, Koorrana's largest is Oz.
History
It was September 2034, when a wave of unexpected protests swept over Australia and New Zealand. Australia, one of the oldest democracies in the world, was facing an unforeseen civil uprising. At the center of this unprecedented turmoil was the powerful Australian Aboriginal movement, Koorrana.
Koorrana was founded upon the underlying principles of justice and inclusivity. Though originally centered around Australia’s Aboriginal population, their message quickly spread to encompass the entirety of the nation’s diverse communities. This united front galvanized together in pursuit of a shared goal—the creation of a new state, a new home, a safe refuge for all Australians—Koorrana.
Koorrana was founded on what was to become the Five Principles of Koorrana: empowerment of all walks of life, social justice for the oppressed, freedom of expression, an emphasis on equality and solidarity among all communities, and sustainability of the environment.
The founding of Koorrana quickly turned the tide in favor of the previously-oppressed Aboriginal population. Equality was achieved in many aspects, including economic, social, political, and cultural. It soon became a sleeping giant, providing support to those previously denied of it.
Koorrana has enjoyed economic stability, with low unemployment, ample financial resources, and greater consumer choice. Politically, Koorrana has remained an independent state, even going so far as to send representatives to various regional and international governments.
On October 29, 2034, Koorrana officially declared itself an independent state of Australia and New Zealand. With this declare of sovereignty, the Aboriginal Revolution had won. After hundreds of years of systematic discrimination, Koorrana was finally freed from the oppressive hands of discrimination and a new country emerged. It was a proud moment for all of Australia and New Zealand.
For Koorrana, the road ahead is a long and arduous one. With independence comes great risk, but also potential for growth and strength. Already, Koorrana has begun to slowly build strong relationships with their neighboring countries. Koorrana’s future is still uncertain, but with hard work and dedication, the nation can find hope, unity, success, and peace.
Climate
Koorrana is home to many different climates depending on elevation, distance to the sea and relief. The Oz island is covered all across the north by a dry and very hot desert, while it's tropical in the northeast. In the island of Aotearoa, it predominates the oceanic climate. In the capital city, Cronulangatta, it is a tropical climate, savanna type, with not a great variation between temperatures. However, even in the summer it tends to get cooler at night.
Rainfall is abundant except in the desert, as it rains between 800–1,000 millimetres (31–39 in) and even 2500 mm in most of the territory, mostly during winter months.
