Saint-Paul (Baptistois Creole: Sen Pòl) is one of the six parishes of Saint-Baptiste. Located on the island's northeastern tip, Saint-Paul is the second-largest parish by population. Traditionally focused on plantation agriculture and the production of sugar and coffee as raw resources, Saint-Paul quickly became one of Saint-Baptiste's most wealthiest parishes, and garnered a reputation as the "second capital" outside of Port-Anne. Since Saint-Baptiste's independence and the move towards tourism, Saint-Paul, and in particular Pointe-à-L'anse, have become known for its luxury resorts and service industries surrounding tourism. This includes the Les Portiellers rum distillery, originally founded in the 19th century, and the more recent Dumont Pointe-à-L’anse luxury resort. Pointe-à-L'anse is also known for its cruise ship dock, the largest in Saint-Baptiste.
The terrain Saint-Paul's is rocky in the north, before flattening out towards the south and the coastline. The parish is known for urban sprawl associated with the town of Pointe-à-L'anse and its recent growth. As of the 2018 census, Saint-Paul's population was 6,489.
Communities
There are six communities and village located in Saint-Paul, including the parish seat of Pointe-à-L'anse. since the 1960s, many of these communities have become effectively suburbs or environs of Pointe-à-L'anse, and much of the parish's economy revolves around the town.
