Zoygaria is divided into 20 first-level subdivisions, 18 of which are oblasts (Zoygarian: oltrevlastos), and the remaining 2 of which are grand duchies (Zoygarian: vielkio kiąžistvos), which bear the same status as an oblast but a differing title and slightly more autonomy. These oblasts and grand duchies are further subdivided into prefectures (Zoygarian: praefekturas).

Disputed Territory

The Jumbosan-held Des Mann islands (Zoygarian: Las Islas Askuas) are a subject of dispute between the countries of Jumbosa and Zoygaria. The islands are de facto and de jure controlled by the Confederation of Jumbosa, but possess a very high majority population of ethnic Zoygarians. Zoygaria claims historical precedence over the islands, as they were ruled directly by the Zoygarian Empire until its fall and were temporarily seized from Jumbosa by Zoygaria during the World War, and as such claims the islands to belong to it. The unresolved issue remains a strain in relations for the two nations.
