Sanaa Ben Ziane (born March 23 1967) is a Salamati politician and activist. She is the prime minister in Salamat since September 22 2023.
Born into a rich family close to what would become the Salamati ruling class, she had a privileged education and was always close to the government. Her privileges disappeared in 1983 when Jalil Al Kharrabi sought to rejuvenate the ruling class, but made a return in 1990. She still took some distance from the government in the early nineties and became opposed to it on the subject of feminism and women rights (to equal pay, to protection against sexual violences, to equal chances etc...) but came closer to the government in 1995 when the terrorists from the AIG started targeting her as a victim in two assassination attempts on July 19 1995 and October 22 1995, after a controversial take on the hijab in March 1995.
She then beneficiated from the protection of the police, and then joined the National Salvation Party in 1996 after reconciling with the government.
