Commissions of Mel-akkam
The Commissions are the four specialised legislative bodies of Mel-akkam. Each is composed of ten members, one elected from each province, and has authority over one area of governance (social affairs, economics, justice, or foreign affairs). Each is led by a President, customarily the member for Mohenjo-daro Province. The commissions are elected twice annually, on the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes.
Social Commission
The Social Commission, sometimes referred to as the First Commission, has authority over social affairs. It has a wide range of competencies and is often considered to be the most powerful commission.
